June has finally come and we are about to embark on our San Francisco/Idaho adventure! My husband and some friends planned this trip months ago when deciding what we should do for the 4th of July. Last year we celebrated in Arizona with friends and family. This year, however, we decided to do Idaho because one of our friends has family up in the beautiful Coeur D'Alene area. I had never heard of it before, but after telling friends and family our destination; ooh's and aahh's were the general response. And, after a quick Google search, seems like it'll be a beautiful fun-filled trip.
Anyways, on to the packing. On our way up to Idaho, our first stop is going to be San Francisco. We have some family up there and some of the guys we're traveling with have never been. The weather report says it'll be gloomy, so pants and rain boots are a must. In Idaho, however, we've heard that it's supposed to reach up to 106 one of the days we're there. Summer attire, then! My traveling must-haves! These basics go with just about every outfit in my wardrobe. I choose neutrals so that I can get good use out of them. Below are my must-haves and some really great alternatives. |
Ted Baker Makeup case is a new addition and I'm absolutely in love. And Since it is the 4th of July, I'm deciding to whip out my favorite bright red Michael Kors Studded Selma to be festive. You can find a similar one here. The Michael Kors cheeta crossbody is my go-to for any outfit. The studded black leather Michael Kors wristlet is an eye-catcher, but I don't really wear or own a lot of silver to match. I think this alternative would be much simpler and give the same desired look. Both pairs of Tory Burch Reva flats are amazing and such quality shoes. I love wearing them with a nice pair of skinnies or with some Lululemon yoga pants. So comfortable, so classy.
Packing for San Francisco was an easy choice. I'm a mom and not about being uncomfortable while trying to keep track of a toddler AND being wet. Comfortable yet stylish choices are a must. Here I pair my favorite pair of Lulu Lemon yoga pants with a simple all black Northface jacket and accent with red. I also have an excuse to wear my brand new Hunter rain boots. Living in southern California doesn't provide much of an opportunity. 33% chance of rain? I'll take it.
My last San Francisco outfit sports a little more glam and leans a little more mom-ish for comfort. As I said, the weather is said to be a little cooler at night than I'm used to so I'm not going to hesitate to wear my favorite J.Crew Chambray shirt and White Ralph Lauren skinnies. Also seen here is my favorite lipstick, MAC lipstick in Cherish and my favorite Michael Kors watch. They are both amazing neutrals that go with any outfit.
